The box-office behemoth that is Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues to dominate the global box-office, and news reaches us today that the film is now officially the fourth biggest film of all time worldwide. The Force Awakens overtook Furious 7 and The Avengers to take the title, and now just Jurassic World, Titanic and the mighty Avatar stand in its way of glory.

The J.J. Abrams directed Star Wars sequel has taken just a touch over $1.5 billion around the world with the film yet to open in China, the world’s second biggest market after North America.

It should overtake Jurassic World pretty soon; the Colin Trevorrow helmed sequel from last summer has $1.669 billion in global takings, while Titanic‘s total stands at $2.186 billion. The film will have to go some to become the biggest grossing film of all time; the current record holder Avatar stands strong with $2.788 billion.

We’ll keep you updated on the continuing performance of The Force Awakens over the coming weeks.
