Star Wars Episode VIII has been pushed back 7 months!

Now that headline screams bad news for Star Wars fans, but the fact that Disney/ Lucasfilm have just pushed back Episode VIII is purely a tactical one, and in no way indicitive that there’s trouble with the Rian Johnson directed sequel.

You see, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has made a ton of money in its Christmas slot, and it seems that Disney want that success to continue. Let’s not forget, it didn’t do The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings movies that much harm, did it?

Episode VIII’s slot will now be filled by the next Pirates Of The Caribbean movie, which has been brought forward a couple of months from July. Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which has just finished shooting, will move to May 26th from July 7th, 2017.

Shooting kicks off on Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII in the UK next month.
