‘Terminator 2’ seemingly cancelled from Paramount slate

The planned sequel(s) to Terminator Genisys have seemingly been deleted from Paramount’s upcoming release slate. Two Terminator movies were set to be released in 2017 and 2018, but now Deadline reports that Terminator 2’s scheduled release date of May 19, 2017 has now been filled by the Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron led Baywatch movie.

Terminator Genisys had quite a respectable worldwide gross of $440 million, but only grossed $90 million on domestic soil. The film opened to very mixed reviews last summer, including a very average one here on The Hollywood News.

Here’s a little from our diagnosis:

The big problem with the movie is that I just didn’t care about what I was witnessing. I didn’t care about the characters, about what was happening to them, and what was in store for them. I didn’t care for the heavily CGI-ed action sequences or the over-complicated and really quite average plot devices, and I didn’t really care about Schwarzenegger either. He’s clearly the best thing about the movie, but in something so mediocre, that’s not saying much at all.

More news on any potential sequels as we get it.
