It has been revealed that the eighth Fast and Furious movie will head to Iceland later this year for a portion of its shoot. Fast 8, as it is being referred to, will be partly shot in the West Iceland town of Akranes, about 45 km (28 miles) north of Reykjavík, so reports Vísir.

Sources on the site also report that there are plans afoot to carry out the largest explosion ever in Iceland.

It is thought that the production will be largely based in New York City. Vin Diesel will lead the cast for the eighth adventure with most of the cast from Furious 7 also returning.

The film will be released on April 17th, 2017.
