If thou hast seen Horrible Histories
Or know this troupe from TV’s Yonderland,
Thine eyes hast been treated to comedies
And never hast thou heard a laughter canned.
For Bill is that most rare a lucid dream;
A family film fine for young and old.
And not since Python have we seen a team
Whose humorous tales have been so well told.
These players do play many parts herein
To see them do so well is utter bliss.
And I must thank them for bringing their kin-
Helen McCory, Damian Lewis.
The writing too, is worthy of a king.
Like times before, ‘tis true! The play’s the thing!
For Shakespeare fans, the nods are very clear.
And younger ones will laugh at the word ‘bum.’
If running gags ye seek, then find them here-
Like Christopher Marlow’s jokes ‘bout your mum.
In terms of visuals and set design;
Their London is hilariously bleak.
The hair and make-up, costumes are divine,
Photography and editing are sleek.
I laughed so much that I did come to tears.
‘Tis hard to find a fault with what they’ve done!
Best family live action film for years…
If not a close second to Paddington.
Give me your hands if we be friends. Drink hard!
And watch this film with me. If not, you’re Bard!
Bill is available now Digital HD and on Blu-ray, DVD 15th of February.
