The ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ get Moody in new Character Cinemagraphs

TMNT 2

Michael Bay seems to have the toy to blockbuster franchise market covered. Not content with directing what feels like a thousand Transformers movies, Bay is also producing forthcoming turtles sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

The first film was a pretty mixed bag and the titular turtles themselves didn’t really feature in the piece all that much. Rather the movie felt much more like an April O’Neal origin story with Megan Fox in almost every scene. Fingers crossed this will be rectified second time around.

Last time around the UK had to wait two months after the US to see those heroes in a half-shell, this time we’ll get the film at the same time. In preparation for the release on 3rd June we’ve gotten our hands on these character cinemagraphs (basically moving posters) which point to a moodier set of turtles. Well they are teenagers after all.

From what we’ve heard so far the sequel will delve further into true Turtles territory as some very familiar characters are set to make an appearance. Arrow lead Stephen Amell is onboard as hockey mask wearing vigilante Casey Jones. In addition to Casey Jones, we’ve also glimpsed classic Turtle foes Bebop, Rocksteady and Krang in the most recent trailer. This move may help appease those fans that were more than a little disappointed with the handling of Shredder. What we’re really hoping for is a cameo from Vanilla Ice and his Ninja Rap.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows will arrive on both sides of the Atlantic on 3rd June 2016, with previews on 30th May.
