John Wick was one of the better action movies of last year, and it certainly went down quite well with our critics. Anticipation is at an all time high for the follow-up, which we should see in cinemas in the early part of next year.
Well, John Wick himself, Keanu Reeves, has been talking about John Wick 2 to IGN.
“For us it was just what is the next chapter? What is the continuation of this story?”, he told the site. “Opening up the world – the underground world. The world behind the world in terms of the assassins. Kind of evolving the action – if the first one was a black belt, then this one is third degree black belt. It’s such a fun project and a great character”.
Interestingly, we are seeing that the film is now being referred to as John Wick: Chapter 2 on the IMDB, which I suppose ties in with Reeves’ comments above. Shooting has now been completed on the high-octane sequel, which will be largely set in Rome, and we should see this in the multiplexes come next January/ February.
More news as we get it.
