Legendary actor and filmmaker Beat Takeshi has joined the cast of the in-production Ghost In The Shell movie. Cinema Today reports that Takeshi will play the role of Public Security Section 9 founder and chief Daisuke Aramaki in Dreamworks and Paramount’s live-action film, which will hit cinemas next year.
Scarlett Johansson leads the cast in the film, which also stars Pilou Asbæk and Michael Pitt (Boardwalk Empire), who will play the Laughing Man.

The story follows the exploits of a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime. It will roll out in cinemas on March 31, 2016.
