With production now officially wrapped on Kong: Skull Island, the many months of post-production can begin. Tom Hiddleston, who will appear in the movie, has been talking all about it to Entertainment Weekly, and it sounds like we’re in for something truly special.

“Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who directed it, had this extraordinary idea, I don’t want to spoil too much because I kind of want people to see the trailer and go “oh, okay”…but it’s a whole new re-conception of the mythology,” Hiddleston told EW.

“It essentially follows a group of disparate travelers and explorers and soldiers who travel to an undiscovered island in the South Pacific. And it’s set in a time period where you could conceive that there are still undiscovered places on the earth,” he added. “What they find on the island is surprising, and then every character has a very different response to it. It’s going to be spectacular and epic, but also the human drama is kind of interesting as well.”

We’ve got a bit of a wait before the film hits cinemas, as its not out until March of next year. Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, Toby Kebbell, Corey Hawkins, and Jason Mitchell also star in the film, which will set things up nicely for a Kong V Godzilla movie which Warner Bros. have penciled in for 2020.
