Following on from the huge success of The Jungle Book, which is still riding high at the box-office, Disney have officially announced no less than nine new live-action titles.
Cruella with Emma Stone in the title role with Kelly Marcel writing, A Wrinkle in Time with Ava DuVernay attached to direct, Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson, Dumbo with director Tim Burton and writer Ehren Kruger, that sequel to Mary Poppins with director Rob Marshall, starring Emily Blunt, Maleficent 2 with Angelia Jolie, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms with director Lasse Hallstrom and writer Ashleigh Powell, The Jungle Book 2 with both director Jon Favreau and writer Justin Marks returning, and finally a Tinker Bell project with Reese Witherspoon set to star and Victoria Strouse writing.
The studio have also teased us with the following release dates:
UNTITLED DISNEY FAIRY TALE (Live Action) previously dated on 12/22/17 moves up to 7/28/17
UNTITLED DISNEY FAIRY TALE (Live Action) now dated on 4/6/18
UNTITLED DISNEY LIVE ACTION now dated on 8/3/18
UNTITLED DISNEY LIVE ACTION now dated on 12/25/18
UNTITLED DISNEY FAIRY TALE (Live Action) now dated on 12/20/19
Obviously, we have no clue as to what they may be, but it could be any of the above. We’d guess that Jungle Cruise and Mary Poppins could fit into that as they have acting talent already attached, and most probably Cruella with Emma Stone. We’ll obviously bring you more information as we get it.
