‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ has started shooting in Cuba

The fifth movie in the Transformers movie, Transformers: The Last Knight, has started shooting over in Cuba.

The news was revealed today by Michael Bay, who shared an image of his Instagram page, along with the caption ‘CUBA! Second American Movie shot in Cuba. Transformers. Amazing place!#transformers

The film will see the return of Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager as well as newcomer Isabela Moner, and will hit cinemas on June 23rd of 2017. The movie will be the second major studio movie to shoot in Cuba, following Fast 8, which kicked off principal photography last month. That sequel will also be released next year.

Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan wrote the screenplay for Transformers: The Last Knight, the film which will be Bay’s last as director on the huge franchise for Paramount. The studio is set to release a Bumblebee spin-off film in 2018 before Transformers 6 arrives in 2019.
