More Trainspotting 2 set pics have hit the internet, and this time Ewan McGregor and Ewen Bremner are seen recreating one of their most iconic scenes from the original – running down Princes Street in Edinburgh.

We all must remember the opening scene from the original movie, released 20 years ago, of McGregor’s Renton doing exactly the same; Danny Boyle introducing us to each character in a hugely memorable sequence.

Obviously, we don’t know how this will feature in the new movie, but still cool to see many months before the film actually hits the streets.

Take a look at the Trainspotting 2 set pics below.

Trainspotting 2 will be set 20 years after the events of the original, and will be based on the novel ‘Porno’ by Irvine Welsh, who also penned the first book. He recently spoke to Vice about the story.

“It’s very much telling a story about Edinburgh as it currently is. The main element to the story is basically Renton, Begbie, Sick Boy and Spud getting back together again, and it tells the story of them getting involved in the vice industry in a very innovative way.”

Porno was actually written 10 years ago, and it looks like Welsh and screenwriter John Hodge have had to adapt the film’s script to reflect the slight time difference.

“We’ve had to evolve past that, Welsh continued. “Because the actors would have been ten years older when Porno came out, and now they’re 20 years older. It has to take into account that reality.”

Trainspotting 2  – aka T2: Trainspotting 2, will release in cinemas in January 2017. Watch the teaser trailer here.
