The new Hacksaw Ridge trailer is titled ‘Believe’ and gives us a brand new look at the anticipated film.
The new Hacksaw Ridge trailer has arrived online. We revealed earlier on today that the film is all set to make its debut at the 73rd Venice Film Festival, and if by some magic coincidence the new trailer has been released online by Lionsgate – and it looks awesome.
Mel Gibson directs an all-star cast, consisting of the likes of Andrew Garfield, Sam Worthington, Luke Bracey, Teresa Palmer, Hugo Weaving, Rachel Griffiths and Vince Vaughn, and will arrive Stateside in November.
Here’s the plot.
HACKSAW RIDGE is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss [Andrew Garfield] who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Mel Gibson directs from a screenplay by Andrew Knight, Robert Schenkkan, and Randall Wallace. The film is Gibson’s first directorial effort since Apocalypto all of the way back in 2007, and this certainly looks like it has been worth the wait. Are we thinking Oscar glory?
