73rd Venice Film Festival line-up announced

Just a couple of days ago we brought you this year’s line-up for Toronto, and now Venice have announced the key films playing at their film festival, which kicks off at the end of August. More on the Venice Film Festival 2016 line-up below.

The key announcement is that The Magnificent Seven, which opens TIFF on September 8th, will close Venice on 10th September. Damien Chapelle’s La La Land with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone will open the festival on 31st August.

Other notable films playing at this year’s 73rd Venice Film Festival include Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals, Derek Cianfrance’s The Light Between Oceans, Pablo Larrain’s Jackie, Terence Malick’s Voyage Of Time and Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival, all of which appear in-competition.

Also screening out-of-competition is Mel Gibson’s long-awaited Hacksaw Ridge, Jee-woon Kim’s The Age Of Shadows and Paolo Sorrentino’s TV series The Young Pope, from which episodes 1 and 2 will play.
