Supergirl moves American television networks, from CBS to the CW, for it’s second season. The show that stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers aka Supergirl will get extra super next season as it’s added Superman into the mix. Ex-Teen Wolf actor Tyler Hoechlin is to don the iconic cape as his Clark Kent visits his cousin Kara in National City.

According to the series’ exec producer Sarah Schechter Kent’s arrival will stir things up. Speaking at Comic-Con she shared

 “I think that Clark has a very different experience of what it means to have superpowers on Earth. He was raised with them, he has certain values so there’s some real head butting and philosophical approaches that are different and we’ll get into all that.”

Ahead of the shows premiere an image of Hoechlin in his super-suit has arrived online. The costume is designed by Kiersten Ronning, the show’s designer, and bears a striking resemblance to the most recent cinematic version. See for yourself below.

Supergirl season two will air in the US from 10th October on new home the CW. In the UK the show will keep it’s home of Sky One with an air date still TBC.
