Great Wall images: Following the release of the epic trailer, the first batch of photos arrive online.

We brought you The Great Wall trailer just yesterday, and now we can present you with some of the first images from the upcoming film, which will debut in 2017. The film, which stars Matt Damon, is said to be the most expensive movie to have shot entirely in China, and it looks positively amazing. The Great Wall comes to the screen from legendary director Zhang Yimou, and also stars Willem Dafoe, Pedro Pascal, Andy Lau, Tian Jing, and Eddie Peng.
Director Yimou also spoke to the magazine about the film, and its sheer scale. “Indeed, this is the biggest film I have worked on,” he said.
“Working with a Hollywood studio, I have learned a lot. Hollywood studios are very experienced in filmmaking and this is worth studying. However, there are also many differences between Hollywood and Chinese filmmaking. So in order to collaborate, good communication is important. All in all, this type of partnership allows both sides to have a deeper understanding of each other. It opens the door, creates more opportunities for the future, and builds a great foundation.”

The Great Wall is in North American theaters: February 17th, 2017, though it is scheduled to be released in China in December 2016 by Le Vision Pictures and China Film Group Corporation. UK audiences will get it on 24th February, 2017, courtesy of Universal Pictures.
