Warner Brothers are obviously feeling confident with the upcoming release of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, as they are already greenlighting a sequel. According to various sources, the WB will unleash Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 2 in 2018 following the debut of the first movie this coming November.
The Harry Potter spin-off is written by J.K. Rowling, who has already completed work on the sequel, which will officially hit the streets two years after the first movie on November 16th 2018.
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them stars Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne in the central role of wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four “Harry Potter” blockbusters. Yates will also return to direct the sequel
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
