Jack Ryan TV series gets a full season order by Amazon.
John Krasiniski will lead the Jack Ryan TV series from Lost’s Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland.
With Alec Baldwin, Ben Affleck, Harrison Ford and most recently Chris Pine playing the character in the past, John Krasinski is all set to play Jack Ryan in a new TV series over at Amazon.
The Jack Ryan TV series is the brainchild of former Lost duo of co-showrunner Carlton Cuse and writer Graham Roland, and will hit Amazon Prime Video in 2017. The show has had a 10-episode straight-to-series order from Amazon and will officially be titled Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.
Deadline report the news following rumblings from earlier on in the year. The trade blog reports that the Jack Ryan TV series will be a reinvention with a modern sensibility, and will follow Ryan (Krasinski), an up-and-coming CIA analyst as he uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan will be co-produced by Paramount TV and Skydance TV and executive produced by Cuse, Roland, Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form, as well as Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross, along with the movie franchise’s producer Mace Neufeld and Lindsey Springer of Carlton Cuse Prods.
Krasinski was last seen in Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi, which was released back in January. He is next seen in The Hollars, along with Sharlto Copley, Charlie Day, and Richard Jenkins. The film is a comedy/ drama which he also directed. That movie sees a release in August Stateside with a UK release to be announced.
