The Will Ferrell and John C Reilly Sherlock Holmes movie will be entitled Holmes and Watson and will start shooting in late 2016.
Step Brothers stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are set to reunite for a new comedy entitled Holmes and Watson, a film that is inspired by Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes story. The planned PG-13 comedy, set up over at Sony, will kick off shooting towards the end of the year. Etan Cohen, the filmmaker who directed Ferrell in Get Hard most recently, is writing and directing the feature, a comedic turn on Conan Doyle’s novels which were first published all of the way back in 1887. Deadline states that filming will start after Thanksgiving this year.
Sherlock Holmes is as popular as ever with three major incarnations still active today. There’s Guy Ritchie’s films, led by Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law (a third movie is rumoured), Elementary with Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu and Sherlock from the UK starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Holmes and Watson.
