Ben Affleck’s stand-alone ‘Batman’ movie is just ’18 months’ away

Ben Affleck‘s hugely anticipated Batman movie is said to be just ’18 months out’, according to Warner Bros. CEO Jeff Bewkes. The film was due to hit cinemas in October of 2018, so his quote from the 25th Annual Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference, brings that forward ever so slightly.

Here’s what he had to say.

“Ben announced a Batman movie [that] he’s going to direct, star, write for – I think it’s a year and a half out. So, the strategy worked.”

The film, of course, hasn’t even started shooting yet, so the likelihood of a March-ish 2018 release is unlikely – The Flash is currently lined up for around then anyway.

Affleck’s Batman was arguably the best thing about this year’s lacklustre Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, and we love what he’s done with his previous directing efforts, so a Batfleck movie is definitely on our watch-list.

The film is being referred to as The Batman at the moment, and we have a confirmed villain – Deathstroke, which will be played By Joe Manganiello.

Before any kind of Batman movie, we have Wonder Woman on June 2, 2017, Justice League on November 17, 2017, and then James Wan’s Aquaman on July 27, 2018

We’ll bring you more as it comes in.
