For a film that is being release this next summer, information on War For The Planet Of The Apes has been a little scarce. That changes today with the announcement that the film will feature heavily at next weekend’s New York Comic Con, and an official synopsis for the Matt Reeves directed movie.
Here’s that synopsis:
In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins this own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
The film stars Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Terry Notary and Karin Konoval, and will be released on July 14th, 2017.
Reeves, producer Dylan Clark and Andy Serkis will debut an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at NYCC next week, so we expect to have something to share with you all shortly afterwards.
