J.K. Rowling has revealed that the forthcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is just one of five forthcoming movies. Rowling appeared at a Q&A in London which was streamed to fans online throughout the world.
Here’s what she had to say:
“I can say one thing, we were doing some script sessions the other day and we always knew it was going to be one movie. We always knew that from the start. We said a trilogy as a placeholder because we knew there would be more than one movie. Now I think we can say, I’ve done the plotting properly so we’re pretty sure it’s going to be five movies.”
‘Fantastic Beasts’ is released in just over a month and the two sequels will be released on November 16, 2018 and November 20, 2020 respectively.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
The film is set for worldwide release in 3D and IMAX on November 18, 2016.
