Gerard Butler action movie Olympus Has Fallen – effectively Die Hard in The White House – took a huge amount of money ($160 million plus in worldwide receipts) and got a sequel that made even more money ($205 million). A three-quel was inevitable and today Deadline report that it will definitely happen.
Called Angel Has Fallen, referring to the code name for the presidential jet Air Force One, the film is set to go into production in the first half of 2017, supposedly for a 2018 release date.
London Has Fallen was released earlier this year.
Millennium Films are backing the new movie with Gerard Butler co-producing. A director is yet to be revealed but we’ll bet our monthly wages on the fact that Aaron Eckhart will probably return to play the POTUS.
