We revealed last week that there is set to be a third film in the Olympus Has Fallen series. Following this year’s London Has Fallen, Angel Has Fallen will revolve around the ‘taking’ of Air Force One, the Presidential plane with the codename ‘Angel’ of the title.
When we wrote the article we just assumed that Aaron Eckhart would be back as the POTUS which Gerard Butler’s Mike Banning would once again have to save, but apparently not.
Speaking with Den Of Geek promoting the release of the superb Bleed For This, Eckhart was asked if he was coming back for the third movie.
“Oh no, the President is now playing golf,” he said. “I’m at my presidential library, I’m playing golf and I’m out of danger.”
“My agent told me about that yesterday, that they’re going to do another one. But I have nothing to do with that.”
Shooting on Angel Has Fallen will commence in 2017 for a release sometime in 2018.
