Johnny Depp is being lined up to star in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 2, the sequel to this month’s Harry Potter spin-off, led by Eddie Redmayne. Deadline reports that while Depp’s role isn’t known at present, there’s a chance we’ll see him in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-him capacity in Fantastic Beasts, which bows on November 18th.
The J.K. Rowling scripted movie is set 70 years before the events of Harry Potter, and also stars Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, and Colin Farrell. It will transport filmgoers to an enthralling new era of the Wizarding World – New York City in 1926.
Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) stars in the central role of wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter features. The film also stars Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Ron Perlman, and Carmen Ejogo.
