Gareth Evans, the filmmaker who brought us the likes of The Raid and The Raid 2, has named his third feature; The Apostle. Evans dropped the news via his Instagram page a week ago (but we’ve only just seen it).

Radicalist. Conspirator. Traitor. #Apostle

Still, The Hollywood Reporter has some information surrounding the film’s plot.

A mysterious man who travels to a remote island in search of his missing sister…after she’s kidnapped by a religious cult, which is demanding a ransom for her return. But it soon becomes clear that the cult will regret the day it baited this man, who digs deeper and deeper into the secrets and lies upon which the commune is built.

Expect, action set pieces like you’ve never seen before, wonderful camera-work, blood and tension all of the way through.

The film is eyeing a March 2017 start of production in the U.K – so this will be Evans’ first film shot outside of Indonesia. No casting news as yet, but we’ll keep you updated.
