Jurassic World 2 cast grows by two: Rafe Spall (left) and Toby Jones (right).

Two Brits have joined the Jurassic World 2 cast. Toby Jones and Rafe Spall will appear in the J.A. Bayona-directed sequel, which starts shooting in the new year.

Jones and Spall join Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the dinosaur sequel but we know absolutely nothing as to who they will play and what the plot is all about. Colin Trevorrow wrote the screenplay for the film along with Derek Connolly.

One thing’s for sure, we’re not going to get a complete replication of stuff we’ve already seen. According to Trevorrow in a previous interview, he said: “[It will not be] just a bunch of dinosaurs chasing people on an island. That’ll get old real fast,” he explained.

“I don’t think that bigger, better dinosaurs or bigger, more epic-in-scope action sequences are what people are necessarily looking for from this franchise and what they love about it.” Trevorrow told Jurassic Outpost.

“It will be more suspenseful and scary. It’s just the way it’s designed; it’s the way the story plays out. I knew I wanted Bayona to direct it long before anyone ever heard that was a possibility, so the whole thing was just built around his skill set.”

Jurassic World took in an amazing $1.67 billion worldwide when it was release this past year. Trevorrow directed the film for Universal Pictures in one of their most successful years on record. Jurassic World was released following amazing turns for Minions and the seventh Fast and Furious movie, both of which also made of the magic $1 billion mark worldwide.

It’s great news that Rafe and Spall are amongst the Jurassic World cast; two really excellent actors with great pedigrees.

Jurassic World 2 will release in the summer of 2018. More news as we get it.
