Wedding Crashers 2 is in active development, apparently. According to one of the stars of the original comedy, released all of the way back in 2005, Isla Fisher, Vince Vaughn sis looking into potential sequel ideas for another film.
Speaking to ‘The Today Show’ Stateside, Fisher said: “There’s some talk of [a sequel]”, she said. “I bumped into Vince Vaughn at a party and he said that apparently we’re going to be making a sequel. So I’m really excited to see what’s happened to Gloria”.
The original was actually very funny. The plot revolved around Jeremy (Vince Vaughn) and John (Owen Wilson), two divorce mediators who spend their free time crashing wedding receptions. For the irrepressible duo, there are few better ways to drink for free and bed vulnerable women. So when Secretary of the Treasury William Cleary (Christopher Walken) announces the wedding of his daughter, the pair make it their mission to crash the high-profile event. But their game hits a bump in the road when John locks eyes with bridesmaid Claire (Rachel McAdams). There was also an early appearance from Bradley Cooper in the film, which made a whopping $300 million in worldwide box-office takings – from a $40 million budget.
That’s really about all we have in terms of sequel news, but you can see Isla Fisher talking about the potential film and various other bits in a video over here.
