Fantastic Beasts cut scene

A key scene in last week’s big release Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them was reportedly cut at the last minute. We’ve got some information on the Fantastic Beasts cut scene below, bit of course, beware of spoilers.

The scene in question refers to one involving Ezra Miller‘s Credence Barebone, whose Obscurus form was seemingly destroyed right at the end of the movie. It sounds as if there was a key scene showing the character right at the end of the movie, which producer David Heyman explained to Cinema Blend in a recent interview.

“We actually had a scene, which we cut, which was Credence going to a boat, to get on a boat somewhere else. But we cut that, because we didn’t want to have it be such an, ‘Ahhh, here we go.’ [The scene was] him getting on a boat, maybe a boat with Newt, maybe not, and heading off out of New York.”

It sounds like Credence (Miller) Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) will have more prominent roles in the planned four sequels to ‘Fantastic Beasts’ – more so that Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander.

“I don’t think [Newt will be at] the heart of all of them. I think he’ll be part — so will Tina, Queenie and Jacob — will be part of the next one. [Dumbledore and ] Credence and Grindelwald – I think they will be the main players.”

The first ‘Fantastic Beasts movie has had a cracking first weekend out there, making a reported $218 million worldwide in its opening three days. Not too shabby. The sequels will start rolling our from 2018. More news here on THN as it comes in.
