Angela Bassett joins the cast of Marvel’s ‘Black Panther’

Angela Bassett has joined the cast of Marvel’s Black Panther. The news comes from Marvel Studios directly who report that the actress will play the role of Ramonda, T’Challa’s mother in the forthcoming movie adaptation.

Bassett joins the already cast Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke and Florence Kasumba in the movie, which of course is headed by Chadwick Boseman in the title role.

Ryan Coogler (Creed) is directing the film for the studio.

Bassett is currently starring in American Horror Story and was seen in this year’s London Has Fallen. She also has a recurring role on the Nefllix series Bojack Horseman and appeared in the TV mini -series Closer To The Enemy.

Black Panther arrives in cinemas on February 16, 2018. Shooting kicks off soon and we’ll bring you more as it comes our way.
