It’s almost impossible nowadays to avoid the inundation of articles about celebs who have lost a load of weight, toned up, or brought out their own fitness workouts and regimes.
If you’re anything like me, you’ll find yourself gawping at their transformations, their killer abs, or their to-die-for thighs thinking: ‘I wish that was me, but I could never ever look like that; I can’t afford a Hollywood PT, I don’t have a personal chef, and I want to look like that now – not in three years.’
But is this right? Is it possible for us average Joes to get celeb-level ripped?
Money saving website Voucherbox is currently researching into whether this is the case. They are investigating the notion that anyone (including the likes of me and you) can achieve their fitness goals in as little as 12 weeks.
To draw conclusions, they are following three people with common body shapes. They all have office jobs, aren’t normally very active, and they certainly don’t have a Hollywood budget. MyProtein helped them along by providing supplements, individual diets and exercise plans, plus a whole load of encouragement.
Their goals (and the obstacles standing in their way) are all different:
Dave wants to trim down and gain a bit of definition, and his biggest weaknesses are sweets and crisps (we feel you, Dave).
Laura wants to lose a bit of fat and tone up (especially around the arms and stomach). Her biggest weaknesses are cheese and wine (and the occasional slice of cake).
Sezer wants to tone up, his main obstacle being free office snacks. Because the calories don’t count when it’s free, right?
