Secret Cinema 2017: The first film to be featured is the 2001 movie musical Moulin Rouge, which was directed by Baz Luhrmann and stars Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman.
More on Secret Cinema 2017 and the Moulin Rouge event below.
The very first Secret Cinema event of 2017 has been confirmed, and after months of teasing us on the social medias, the organisers have announced that a Moulin Rouge spectacular spectacular will take place from Valentine’s Day in February.
Here’s the official announcement:
1899, Summer of Love
Dear Lovers, Dreamers and Beautiful Strangers,
Secret Cinema presents an all-dancing, all-singing secret world of Baz Luhrmann’s Moulin Rouge!, bringing the living and breathing village of 1899 Paris to a hidden LONDON location, opening VALENTINE’S NIGHT 2017 until April 30th.
Travel over the rooftops, through the alleyways and into the dancehalls of Montmartre. Lose yourself in the sexy, disreputable, glimmering Belle Époque, where you become the Creatures of the Underworld, the Children of the Revolution, and the Aristocrats.
If you’re unaware of Secret Cinema, or what it is all about, then you really need to look in our archives and our reports on this summer’s glorious Secret Cinema Dirty Dancing event where we had, ahem, the ‘Time Of Our Life’, or indeed the previous events for 28 Days Later and the superb The Empire Strikes Back.
This events tend to sell out fast and throw the films featured into the top ten movies for that particular week, and with the popularity of the film and the planned Moulin Rouge musical now in development, we’d expect nothing less from this first event of the new year.
You will be able to book your tickets to the new extravaganza from this coming Thursday, December 8th from the official Secret Cinema website.
We’ll be there in our frilly frocks high-kicking the night away. Keep it THN for more news of Secret Cinema 2017.
