Assassin’s Creed trilogy planned? Michael Fassbender says it all depends on how the first film is received.
More on the potential Assassin’s Creed trilogy news below.
Assassin’s Creed is jumping into cinemas on January 1st, and we all wait with eager anticipation to see if the film to break the dreaded curse of the video game to film tradition. Well, it seems that hopes are high, at least for the filmmakers if lead actor and producer Michael Fassbender is anything to go by.
Fassbender was speaking with Cinema Blend on the promotional trail for the Justin Kurzel-directed movie, and has a few comments on the story arc of the movie.
“This is the sort of origin of his story,” Fassbender said to the outlet.
“We have an idea of where he’s going to go over the next two films. We kind of did a three-film arc. We’ll wait and see how people respond to this, but for sure, we have an idea of where he’s going to go next.”
Sounds like they’re very keen to take things further. Well, it will all come down to how the film is received by cinema-goers, and how those first reviews pan out. Time will tell.
Here’s the plot of the video game adaptation.
Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
We’ll have a full review on the website this week, so keep it THN for updates. As we write this we still haven’t seen the film, but we are very much looking forward to it.
We’ll also bring you news on the Assassin’s Creed trilogy as it comes our way too.
