Keira Knightley Pirates cameo: A source is claiming that the British actress will reprise her role of Elizabeth Swann in next year’s sequel.
More on the potential Keira Knightley Pirates cameo below.
In 2017 we’ll get a new Pirates Of The Caribbean movie. The film is now deep in post-production and will be sailing into our cinemas from 26th May, 2017.
The full title for the motion picture, the fifth in the series, is Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge, which recently changed from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Back for some more action are Johnny Depp as the legendary Captain Jack Sparrow, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner and Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa. Of course, all of the names on that list are reprising their roles from previous instalments, but there’s a major absentee from proceedings; Keira Knightley and her character, Elizabeth Swann. But will she return anyway? Even if the listings don’t currently credit her appearance.
The website TooFab are reporting that Knightley will indeed return to the role of Swann in the film, after she and Bloom sat the last entry out.
Though Knightley’s role is described as a “small cameo during the end credits” it apparently hints at a potential larger role in the the sixth “Pirates” movie.
Also appearing in Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge is Javier Bardem, who plays the new villain of the piece, the Salazar of the title who appeared in the very first teaser trailer, Kaya Scodelario, David Wenham, Stephen Graham, Kevin McNally, and even Sir Paul McCartney, making his first acting appearance for many years.
Here’s the plot:
Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge.” The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.
We’ll bring you any further info on the Keira Knightley Pirates cameo as, if and when it comes in, as Disney are yet to comment.
