The official synopsis for the forthcoming Marvel sequel Thor: Ragnarok has been released by the studio, along with a brand new behind-the-scenes image from the the film featuring Thor himself, and director Taika Waititi.

In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!
Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as the title character, with Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Idris Elba as Heimdall and Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin. Also amongst the cast are the likes of Cate Blanchett, who plays the villain Hela, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban. Sam Neill is also said to have a role and we have hard that Benedict Cumberbatch‘s Doctor Strange may also make an appearance.
Thor: Ragnarok opens everywhere this coming November.
