Sterling K. Brown wants to play John Stewart in Green Lantern Corps

Sterling K. Brown

We reported earlier on today how Warner Bros. were pushing forward with a Green Lantern Corps film, and reacting to the big news, a major Hollywood player has thrust-ed his name forward for the lead role of John Stewart. That man in the brilliant Sterling K. Brown, who featured heavily and very prominently in terms of his acting prowess in the recent event T.V. series American Crime Story: The People Vs O.J. Simpson.

Brown has a role in the forthcoming Black Panther, but as  well as some Marvel action, it looks like he’s after a piece of DC too.

The forthcoming film will focus on two characters: Hal Jordan and John Stewart. The latter is an African American Marine sniper before he joined the Lantern Corps and the story very much focuses on his relationship with Jordan and the Corps.

Brown can also be seen in NBC’s dramedy series This Is Us, and later this year will star alongside Chadwick Boseman and Josh Gad in Reginald Hudlin’s Marshall.

What do you think? Would Sterling make a good John Stewart?
