Jawbone trailer: Johnny Harris writes and stars in this gritty British boxing drama, which opens in the Uk this coming March.
The very first Jawbone trailer, from the upcoming Vertigo Films release, has just been released online. The film is part social-drama, part boxing movie, and arrives in UK cinemas from March 17th.
A former youth boxing champion, Jimmy McCabe (Johnny Harris), is a man desperately in search of hope, but looking in all the wrong places. When he hits rock bottom he turns to his childhood boxing club and the only family he has left: gym owner Bill (Ray Winstone) cornerman Eddie (Michael Smiley) and promoter Joe (Ian McShane). In a battle between fear and faith, Jimmy risks his life, as he tries to stand tall and regain his place in the world.
Set to an original soundtrack by legendary songwriter Paul Weller, Jawbone is also the screenwriting debut of Johnny Harris.
Ahead of its UK release, the film will premiere at the Glasgow Film Festival on 25th February at Glasgow Film Theatre, with Johnny Harris in attendance.
