Rogue One: A Star Wars Story star Diego Luna is eyeing the remake of the classic Scarface. In related news though, the film has lost its director in The Magnificent Seven‘s Antoine Fuqua, who has departed due to scheduling conflicts with The Equalizer 2, which is to shoot this year. Variety first reported the news.
The new version of Scarface will feature the core immigrant story told in both the 1932 and 1983 films, and Universal want it before cameras this spring. The studio is now looking for a new director.
Luna would potentially be up for playing the title character and is currently attached to the redo, which is great news.
We’ll bring you more as it comes our way.
