Ghost In The Shell posters! Scarlett Johansson leads the cast of the new adaptation of the classic manga.
Paramount Pictures have released a new batch on Ghost In The Shell posters ahead of the film’s release next month. The two new posters can be seen below, and feature the film’s star Scarlett Johansson, who appears as the main character of Major.
Here’s the plot synopsis:
In the near future, Major (Scarlett Johansson) is the first of her kind: A human saved from a terrible crash, who is cyber-enhanced to be a perfect soldier devoted to stopping the world’s most dangerous criminals. When terrorism reaches a new level that includes the ability to hack into people’s minds and control them, Major is uniquely qualified to stop it. As she prepares to face a new enemy, Major discovers that she has been lied to: her life was not saved, it was stolen. She will stop at nothing to recover her past, find out who did this to her and stop them before they do it to others.
Based on the internationally acclaimed Japanese Manga, “The Ghost in the Shell.”
The film is directed by Rupert Sanders, the English filmmaker who is responsible for Snow White and the Huntsman, which was released back in 2012. This is his first film since then, and we’re liking what we see so far. Still, adapting such a much-loved piece of work is a huge task, but one that Sanders is more than capable of following the success of his big feature debut.
Also amongst the cast is the legendary “Beat” Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche, Michael Pitt, Pilou Asbæk, and Kaori Momoi. Ghost In The Shell arrives in UK cinemas from Friday 31st March, 2017. We’ll bring you more news as it comes our way.
