Straight Outta Compton’s O’Shea Jackson Jr. in talks to join ‘Godzilla 2’

O’Shea Jackson, who most recently starred in N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, is officially in talks to join Godzilla sequel Godzilla: Kings of the Monsters.

If he does join the Michael Dougherty-helmed movie, he will join the already cast Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler and Vera Farmiga. Ken Wanatabe is thought to have a role in the movie, the only returning cast member from the first movie.

The film follows on from the 2014 film directed by Gareth Edwards and this past month’s Kong: Skull Island, which shares the same universe. Following ‘Godzilla 2’, the two movie monsters will appear in the same movie, all scheduled for 2020.

Jackson played his father Ice Cube in 2015’s music biopic which received critical and commercial appeal.

Dougherty will direct Godzilla: King Of The Monsters from a screenplay he wrote with Zach Shields. The film is set to open on March 22nd 2019.
