The Hateful Eight star Demian Bichir has joined the cast of The Conjuring spin-off, The Nun over at New Line Cinema. The Hollywood Reporter reported the news of the big casting, and adds that Bichir will play a priest named Father Burke who is dispatched by Rome to investigate the mysterious death of a nun. The character featured in The Conjuring 2, which was released last year. The character was added to that movie in the final stages of production following reshoots.
The Conjuring director James Wan is producing the film along with Peter Safran and co-wrote the script with Gary Dauberman. The Hallow director Corin Hardy is helming for the studio.
The Nun will shoot this summer in Romania and debut in cinemas on July 13, 2018. It will follow previous ‘Conjuring’ spin-off Annabelle, and its sequel Annabelle: Creation which hits this coming August.
