Shooting has officially started on the next Mission: Impossible sequel, and it looks like Ethan Hunt and co. have made it to France, in particular Paris if these first Mission Impossible 6 set photos are anything to go by. The pics, from the streets of the French capital, seemingly show Tom Cruise in some kind of cahoots with Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation bad guy Solomon Lane (Sean Harris).
The Mission Impossible 6 set photos clearly show Hunt and Lane in a car – so does this show that the two team up for the new adventure? Other shots from day one see Cruise suspended from wires high above the street, and him landing in a helicopter. Check them all out below.
The sixth film in the hit action-spy movie series, which began all of the way back in 1996 with Brian De Palma’s Mission: Impossible, sees the return of some of the characters from the last movie. Of course, Tom Cruise returns to the role of Ethan Hunt, and will be joined by the likes of Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Henry Cavill, Alec Baldwin, Vanessa Kirby, Sian Brooke and Sean Harris. Frederick Schmidt, who was last seen in Supergirl as Metallo, is also amongst the high-profile cast.
The Mission: Impossible movies are a huge deal for Paramount Pictures, all five of which have so far brought in nearly $2.8 billion for the studio over the years. The most popular domestically was John Woo’s second instalment, which took in $215 million in its home territory, closely followed by ‘Ghost Protocol’, which made $209 million.
The new film will bow in cinemas on July 27th 2018, courtesy of writer/ director Christopher McQuarrie. Here are those Mission Impossible 6 set photos.
