Chris Evans to follow Tom Hardy on CBeebies Bedtime Stories

Captain America star Chris Evans is the next big name to appear on the BBC’s CBeebies Bedtime Stories. Evans follows in the footsteps of Tom Hardy, James McAvoy, Rosamund Pike and Damian Lewis who have all appeared recently on the show.

Fittingly, Evans will read Even Superheroes Have Bad Days by Shelly Becker and Eda Kaban. Here’s the story from the official synopsis:

When Superheroes don’t get their way, when they’re sad, when they’re mad, when they’ve had a bad day…they COULD super-tantrum, they COULD but they DON’T, because REAL Superheroes just WOULDN’T they WON’T! All kids have trouble getting a grip on their emotions, sometimes even young superheroes! But what do they do when they’re having a bad day? Colorful action-packed illustrations and a dynamite rhyming text reveal the many ways superheroes (and ordinary children, too) can resist the super-temptation to cause a scene when they’re sad, mad, frustrated, lonely, or afraid. From burning off steam on a bike or a hike, to helping others, this energetic picture book has plenty of fun ideas to help kids cope when they re feeling overwhelmed.

“I’m honoured to be the next guest on CBeebies Bedtime Stories, which is such a special show,” Evans said.

“I hope families have as much fun watching as I had reading!”

“All children have trouble getting a grip on their emotions, sometimes even young superheroes,” said the BBC.

“Chris tells the tale of how they can channel their energies.”

Evans’ episode will air at 6.50pm on Wednesday, May 10. He will next be seen on the bog-screen in Mark Webb’s Gifted and then next year in the next instalment in the Avengers series, Avengers: Infinity War.
