Here’s the plot synopsis of the film before we share the It Comes At Night trailer, which debuted late last night.
Secure within a desolate home as an unnatural threat terrorizes the world, the tenuous order a man (Joel Edgerton) has established with his wife and son is put to the ultimate test with the arrival of a desperate family seeking refuge. Despite the best intentions of both families, paranoia and mistrust boil over as the horrors outside creep ever-closer, awakening something hidden and monstrous within the man as he learns that the protection of his family comes at the cost of his soul.
SlashFilm called It Comes At Night ‘One of the most unnerving and creepy movies of the year, while respected genre website Bloody Disgusting say that the film is ‘a haunting post-apocalyptic fever dream.’ The former website also describes as a ‘horror in the vein of The Witch, a slow burn, a descent into madness that you know is coming yet still hope that they can prevent.’ We so can’t wait to see this.
A24 will release It Comes At Night in the U.S.A. on June 9th this year, but we’re still awaiting a U.K. debut for it. Obviousuy we’ll let you know when that changes.
