James Wan has officially kicked off shooting on the stand-alone Aquaman movie. The news was announced on his official Twitter account with an image from the set of the film, which will be released in 2018. We’ve even got brand new title art for the film, which you can see above.

Aquaman is releasing on December 21st, 2018 with Jason Momoa in the title role. The film also stars Amber Heard as Queen Mera, Nicole Kidman as Aquaman’s mother Atlanna, Temuera Morrison as Aquaman’s father, Patrick Wilson as Aquaman’s brother Orm, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, and Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus.
