Jason Clarke is in talks to join Damien Chazelle’s Neil Armstrong biopic

We reported earlier this week that both Kyle Chandler and Corey Stoll were in talks to join Damien Chazelle’s forthcoming Neil Armstrong biopic First Man. Well, now The Hollywood Reporter are reporting that Everest and Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes star Jason Clarke is also in negotiations to join the project, which is led by Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong.

Based on the book by James R. Hansen, and adapted by Josh Singer, First Man tells the story of the first manned space mission to the moon back in the 1960s. Clarke is reportedly set to play Ed White, the first American to walk in space, who later died in an Apollo mission testing accident.

Gosling appears as Armstrong, while Stoll will play Buzz Aldrin and Chandler as test pilot Deke Slayton. Shooting starts later this year.
