Matt Reeves will take influence from Alfred Hitchcock for ‘The Batman’

Judging by early reports, Matt Reeves is apparently about to unleash one of the films of the year with the third instalment in the modern Planet Of The Apes series next month. War For The Planet Of The Apes has been getting some great word of mouth and I for one can’t wait to see it as soon as it arrives in cinemas on July 11th.

While we do indeed look forward to that, we are also massively interested in his next project, the highly anticipated stand-alone Batman movie over at Warner Brothers. We’re sure that he’ll set about work on the Ben Affleck led film, titled The Batman presently, very soon, but ahead of pre-production, Reeves has been talking about the film and where he will take influence from.

The filmmaker spoke with CNET earlier this week while out on the press tour for his ‘Apes’ movie.

“For me, point of view is really important. I want to make sure you are experiencing something from the perspective of the main character in the story. I’m a huge Hitchcock fan — I like the idea of being immersed in that perspective. Movies for me are about empathy. The idea is to make you, the audience, feel what the character feels.”

There is currently no release date set for The Batman, or whatever they plan to call it, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
