Singer Ne-Yo Set To Join The Cast Of The ‘Step-Up’ TV Series

Variety are reporting that none other than music superstar Ne-Yo is set to lead out the planned Step-Up TV series. Step Up: High Water, as it is being referred to, is being launched on YouTube Red this autumn. He joins the already-cast Naya Rivera and Faizon Love in the 10-parter, which is currently shooting over in Atlanta.

The show is based on the hugely popular Step Up films, which have grossed around $650 million at the box office worldwide.

The trade says that the new series focuses on a group of ambitious young dancers at Atlanta’s famed High Water Performing Arts School, led by Sage Odom (Ne-Yo). In the series, Rivera plays Collette, a former dancer turned administrator whose passion for her students is only matched by her history with Sage — and secrets of her own.

There’s no specific air date as yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
