Take that headline as your official warning shot. Yes, Frozen 2 is off and running and has begun its recording sessions for its vocal artists this week. Jonathan Groff, who voices Kristoff in the movies and spin-offs, revealed that he’s about to head to the recording studio to Entertainment Weekly. More on the Frozen 2 production news below.
Here’s what Groff had to say to the outlet:
“I think I just got an email yesterday where I’m about to go into the recording studio in a couple of weeks, or maybe a month? They’re about to really get into the thick of recording it, which I’m excited about. I don’t know anything about it yet other than I’m about to start recording my section of it.”
Frozen 2 production news! Recording is under way on the highly anticipated animated sequel!
Frozen 2 is the sequel to the box-office-busting feature animation from the Mouse House that took $1.27 billion around the world when it was released back in 2013. That doesn’t include any of the licensing, merchandise or toy sales, which will possibly dwarf that figure. The property continues to sell through on the home formats too and is a viewing staple come Christmas time.
In case you don’t know the story of the first Frozen, here’s a recap:
When the newly crowned Queen Elsa accidentally uses her power to turn things into ice to curse her home in infinite winter, her sister, Anna, teams up with a mountain man, his playful reindeer, and a snowman to change the weather condition.
Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Idina Menzel are all expected to return for the highly-anticipated sequel, but you’re going to have to wait just under two and a half years or so to see it, as the release date is set for November 27th, 2019.
We’ll bring you more Frozen 2 production news as it is fired our way.
