Charlie Sheen and Whoopi Goldberg are leading out the cast for a new 9/11 movie, which is set to be released just a few days before the 16th anniversary of the horrific terror attacks later this year.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the new film follows five people trapped in an elevator inside the World Trade Center’s North Tower on that fateful day in September 2001. The group works together to find hope amid seemingly inescapable circumstances. The outlet adds that the film is based on Patrick Carson’s stage play ‘Elevator’, with the film recreating actual events adapted from voicemail messages left by victims.
A debut poster for the film, which is titled simply 9/11, will get a wide theatrical release Stateside from September 8th, 2017.
Luis Guzman, Gina Gershon, Wood Harris, Jacqueline Bisset, Olga Fonda, and Bruce Davison also star.
